Do you feel like there's just not enough time to accomplish what needs to get done? Each day you set out with goals, to do lists and anything else you can think of to keep you and your family on-track and on-time. Yet with all of those tools at hand, somehow, something always falls through the cracks. If this is you, you're not alone.
Time Management is one of those elusive things that always seems simple to tackle and yet never is. With all of the technology available today to help us get organized, shouldn't this be easier? The answer is yes, but it's not about finding more time, it's making the best of the time we do have to get everything done.
Put Down That Smart Phone.
Believe it or not, there was a time when we were able to communicate and get through our day without being constantly connected to a smartphone or some form of electronics. Too often, we are all to blame for not paying enough attention to our families or tasks at hand because we are too busy answering emails, checking texts and anything else that grabs our attention; claiming a lack of time as the reason for being on our phones 24/7.
So here's the challenge - whether you do this alone or with your family/friends, every night during this month, pick a time to shut down and disconnect from all electronics and stick to it. Turn off and use this time to connect, accomplish tasks you've been putting off or just relax, whatever works best for you. If you or someone in your family uses their smartphone as an alarm clock, try an alternative device to wake you up in the morning so that there are no excuses when it comes time to shut down.
